Literature & Works with Warnings Against “Designer Societies”

Watch a bit of entertainment “V for Vendetta.” An interesting movie about an Anti-Hero who dismantles a watcher-government which has mistaken some sort of social stability as justification for any method needed – any!

You could see bits of Any Rand, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Isaac Asimov, Yevgeny Zamyatin, Ray Bradbury, Ursula Le Guin, Edward Abby, Kurt Vonnegut, C.S. Lewis, Franz Kafka and other Dystopian Fiction Authors.

Lest we think mankind’s’ fear of the downside of social engineering is anything new, the very term Dystopian originated in a speech given on the floor of the UK parliament 140 years ago.

The lesson their fiction attempts to teach us is simple – you cannot force freedom. You cannot regulate, legislate, dictate or enforce with baklava-masked secret operatives any form of true freedom.

That freedom, as our founding fathers ably noted in the documents forming the USA, is from within and is an inalienable aspect of mankind.

That is if the members of society step up and act to that freedom.

More on the topic soon,
